Privacy Policy for SwipeSort
Effective Date: March 3, 2026
At SwipeSort, we believe your photos and privacy belong entirely to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the SwipeSort application.
1. The Core Principle: 100% On-Device Processing
Our most important rule is simple: Your photos stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, shared, or seen by us. All photo scanning, duplicate detection, and organization processes happen locally on your iPhone. We do not have servers that store, process, or transmit your media.
2. Photo Library Access
To provide its core features, SwipeSort requires read and write access to your Apple Photo Library.
Why we need it: To find duplicate photos, identify large videos, and allow you to delete unwanted media to free up storage space.
How it is used: The App analyzes your photo metadata and image data entirely locally. When you choose to delete a photo, the App securely requests iOS to remove it. We cannot and do not access your photos outside of your device.
3. Anonymous Analytics (Firebase)
To improve SwipeSort and understand how our App is performing, we use Google Analytics for Firebase.
What we collect: We only collect anonymous, aggregated telemetry data. This includes events like how many megabytes (MB) were cleared in a session, which screens are used most often (e.g., "Duplicates" vs. "Organize"), and whether you are a "Founding User".
What we DO NOT collect: We never collect personally identifiable information (PII), email addresses, names, photo content, or photo metadata (like location data from your pictures).
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not collect or store your personal data or photos on any external servers, there is no personal data for us to retain or delete. If you uninstall SwipeSort, all local App data is immediately removed from your device.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party service solely for anonymous analytics:
Google Analytics for Firebase: Google's Privacy Policy
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or App features. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
